Mimi Meier
Mimi was born in Vancouver and has since settled back to the area, after having lived abroad in the UK, Switzerland and New Zealand for 10 years. Mimi began taking pictures in high school as a hobby, which quickly turned into a full on love affair. Deciding to turn her new love into her future career, she then studied photography at Langara College, completing the Professional Photo-Imaging program.
Along with her passion for travel, Mimi has been able to photograph life's wonders around the globe. From the outback of Australia, to the safari's of Africa. Mimi has trekked through South America and navigated the wonders of Asia, always with camera in hand. Then while living abroad, Mimi gained experience working in many different areas of the photography world. In London she focused on retouching images at a professional lab and while in New Zealand the photo taking possibilities were endless! At that time, Mimi focused on a variety of subject matter, from natural landscapes to still portraits, also including some extreme sports such as jet boating, skiing, and luge.
After welcoming her own daughter to the world in the spring of 2009, Mimi realized that her true passion was taking photos of people, especially little ones. She understands how important it is to capture those fleeting precious moments that are gone in the blink of an eye. Mimi now lives in Kitsilano with her husband, seven year old daughter and five year old son.
